Who we are

New Property Direct Pty Ltd (ACN 703 360 561) ("we", "us") connects buyers with brand-new residential property. This policy explains how we handle your personal information. We aim to handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number.
  • Enquiry details: what you tell us about what you're looking for, such as whether you're buying to invest or live in, your timeframe, your finance status, budget, preferred locations and the property you enquired about.
  • Conversation details: notes of our calls and video meetings with you, and appointment times.
  • Figures you choose to share: if you book a Numbers Walkthrough, you may give us estimates such as your income, deposit or borrowing so we can model a property's costs for you. Only share what you're comfortable with. We don't need documents such as payslips or tax returns.
  • Website and advertising data: how you reached us (for example, which ad you clicked), the pages you visit, and cookie or device identifiers (see "Cookies and advertising" below).

We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health information or racial or ethnic origin) and ask that you don't send it to us. You can deal with us without giving your name for general questions, but we'll need your contact details to arrange calls or provide property information.

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you: through forms on this website and our property pages, when you book or attend a call, and when you email, call or message us. We also collect information automatically through cookies and similar technology when you use our website.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange calls and meetings with you.
  • To give you information about properties that may suit you, and to model a property's costs using figures you provide.
  • If you decide to proceed with a property, to introduce you to the developer and its licensed selling agent so the purchase can go ahead.
  • To send you updates about new property opportunities, where you've agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
  • To measure and improve our advertising and website.
  • To meet our legal obligations and keep records.

The figures we model are illustrative only. We do not provide financial, credit, tax or legal advice.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers who help us run the business, such as our customer relationship management system, email and calendar, website hosting, phone and SMS providers, and contractors who call enquirers on our behalf. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
  • Developers and licensed selling agents, when you want to go ahead with a property, so they can prepare your purchase, contracts and any identity checks required by law.
  • Mortgage brokers, accountants or other businesses only if you ask us to, or agree to it, at the time.
  • Advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), as described below.
  • Others where required or authorised by law, such as regulators or courts.

We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas storage and disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information overseas, including in the United States. Where we use overseas providers, we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technology to understand how visitors use it. When we run ads on Facebook and Instagram, we use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. These tell Meta when someone who saw our ad takes an action such as submitting an enquiry or booking a meeting, so we can measure our ads and show them to people more likely to be interested. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you, under its own privacy policy.

You can control cookies in your browser settings, and manage how Meta uses information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

Marketing messages

If you've agreed, we may send you emails or SMS about new property opportunities. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any SMS. You can also ask us to stop at any time by contacting us. We'll still contact you about an enquiry or purchase you have under way.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls on our systems. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. If we can't give you access, we'll tell you why.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, please contact us first at [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page.
